ART BUDDIES

Do you love art? Does your child? Do you enjoy sharing your passion for art and encouraging others to embrace their creativity? Consider joining our Art Buddies program!

Art Buddies is a community-based mentorship program that matches adult volunteers ("Bigs") with youth ("Littles") who have a shared interest in any form of art or artistic expression. This could include traditional arts, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, or crafts. It could also include other forms of art, such as music, digital art, photography, and spoken word art. The arts provide a healthy, creative outlet for youth and adults alike, and they provide enrichment for the community. What better foundation upon which to build and nurture a positive mentoring relationship?

Art Buddies matches do things like visit art galleries, take an art class, learn about a new artistic expression, or meet with an artist. We provide monthly activities. All matches have to do is show up, enjoy their time together, and build friendship through the power of art!

Art Buddies mentors must be at least 18 years of age, have access to reliable transportation, and be able to commit to at least one year. Mentors do not have to be professional artists or have any background in the arts. As with all of our community-based programs, interested mentors must complete an application and screening interview, provide references, and successfully pass a criminal background check and driving records check. Littles in the Art Buddies program must be between the ages of 6 and 14 at the time of enrollment.
